DARREN ETHERINGTON

Darren is an experienced, loyal community driven Physiotherapist who has dedicated his skills to helping his patients return to active lives for the past 20+ years at Jannali Physiotherapy.

As Owner, Operator of this practice Darren has a keen interest in the WHY. Why has this injury happened, why has in recurred, why is it not recovering as expected? Through a thorough examination and movement analysis a treatment plan will be formulated to assist the client to achieve their maximum goals.

  • His passion for all sports and sponsored commitment to various local sporting clubs at state and national levels over this time has further enhanced and raised his level of expertise of all common Sports Injuries.

    He offers advanced Sports Injury Management & comprehensive core stability programs. As well as a custom made castings, splinting and taping techniques.

    Recent areas of interest & research, including new technologies in:- Extracorporeal shock wave (ESWT)- Master of Dry Needling- Advanced Vestibular Rehab

    Darren’s expertise in his field along with his long term nurtured close working relationship with prominent specialists’ doctors & sports physicians in our area guarantees you will be well looked after the moment you step into the door.

 

EMILY HORTON

Emily completed her Master’s in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney after gaining her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences majoring in human movement in 2014.

She started her career working in hospitals gaining experience working alongside one of physiotherapy’s leading researchers in stroke rehabilitation. She treated many complex patients and developed an ability to analyse complex movement patterns and deliver evidence based scientific practice and treatment protocols.

  • Emily has been professionally involved with Parramatta Goanna’s AFL, aiding individuals through rehabilitation and injury prevention programs. Emily also comes from an extremely sporty background previously competing at a national level in Swimming, Oztag and touch football. Fitness is what she advocates for and she is a firm believer of practising what she preaches.

    Emily has a passion for analysing movement patterns and how a person’s biomechanics and history contribute to injury. She believes in a holistic approach to health, which can be maintained by adopting a very hands on approach balanced with individualised exercise programs and creating and optimum environment for recovery.

    Emily is a firm believer in communication and education. She ensures that all of her patients understand the cause of their pain so they too can take control and participate actively in their recovery.

    Above all, she is an extremely passionate physiotherapist who loves seeing the positive impact physiotherapy can have on someone’s life.

 
 
 

LUCAS AU

Lucus joined the team after completing a Master's of Physiotherapy from the University of Technology Sydney and Bachelor's of Exercise Physiology from UNSW.

Lucus has experience working at a private hospital in day rehabilitation, managing patients following procedures such as hip, knee and shoulder replacements.

  • As a student, Lucus has spent extensive time with Nueromoves division of Spinal Cord Injuries Australia, assisting people with stroke, SCI, TBI and cerebral palsy. In addition, he has experience under the physiotherapy team at Sydney FC. Where he treated players and was involved in their load management, strengthening, conditioning and rehabilitation programs.

    A former grade golfer, Lucus now spends most of his spare time training for triathlons and long course running events.

    Every session, Lucus aims to incorporate his exercise physiology skills in the delivery of physiotherapy. Melding an evidence base approach with outcome based care to achieve collaborative goals.

 

CARMEN LOOMES

Carmen completed her Master’s in Physiotherapy from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) after obtaining her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science.

She kicked off her professional journey in hospitals, gaining valuable experience in stroke rehabilitation and orthopaedics. Carmen is not only a skilled physiotherapist but also a certified Pilates instructor, bringing a unique blend of expertise to the practice.

  • Outside of work, Carmen is passionate about promoting fitness. She enjoys Pilates, swimming, cycling, and running. Her holistic approach to health involves a hands-on approach, personalized exercise programs, and creating an optimal environment for recovery.

    Carmen believes that someone’s body is their home, and that “A happy home creates a happy life” and she is privileged to help you make your ‘home’ the happiest it can be. Above all, Carmen is an enthusiastic physiotherapist who finds immense joy in witnessing the positive impact physiotherapy can have on someone’s life.
